Coffee Oats Smoothie

I first tried this smoothie in local Costa shop in summer. Since then, I have been replacing warm cup of coffee in the morning with this coffee smoothie to start my day. This glass of health delight will freshen up your morning and get you energize for your day.

Ingredients

50ml Coffee shot ( or 1 1/2 teaspoon of coffee granules with 50ml of boiling water)
1 tablespoon Oats (heap)
200ml Milk of your preference (In this recipe I use oat milk)
1 Banana
1 teaspoon Honey
Ice cubes

Directions

  1. Add your preferable coffee shot into the blender (double the coffee for stronger effect)
  2. Add 1 heap table spoon of oats (adding oats to hot coffee will boost the creaminess, to prevent this you can add the oats after adding milk)
  3. Add 200ml of milk (different types of milk create different consistency for your smoothie, find out more here)
  4. Add a banana (or two for thicker smoothie!)
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of honey
  6. Add ice cubes for perfect temperature
  7. Blitz until smooth, and VOILA! Your smoothie is done

Tips

  • Add cocoa powder to make mocha smoothie
  • Brown sugar can be use as honey alternative by putting the sugar directly into hot coffee (2 teaspoon per 1 1/2 teaspoon of coffee granules or 1 shot of coffee)
  • Nut butter can be add for extra flavor and creaminess
  • Berries are not suggested as ingredients in this smoothie recipe
